What is Sculptra®?

As we age, we lose collagen which is the most common protein in the body that supports cells and tissue. As we mature our cells produce collagen at a slower rate and as a result, lines and wrinkles begin to appear. By the age of 45, we can lose up to a 25% loss of collagen. Sculptra® Aesthetic is an injectable poly-L-lactic acid that naturally stimulates our cell’s collagen production to restore lost volume and fullness to the face.

Who is Sculptra® for?

Sculptra® is for anyone who is experiencing noticeable signs of aging due to decreased collagen production. This can appear as wrinkles, loss of volume or “sunken-in” areas, or lack of fullness in areas where you naturally use to have it. Sculptra® is a great treatment for people who are looking for correction of contour deficiencies and other facial wrinkles covering medium to large surface areas in which collagen restoration is needed.

Why Sculptra®

Sculptra® is one of the only injectable treatments that can significantly restore lost facial volume due to aging. Sculptra® differs from Hyaluronic Acid filler injections in several ways. Filler works immediately upon injection and pushes up lines and wrinkles from the deep layers of the skin precisely beneath the area of lost volume. Sculptra®, however, is gradual and works overtime to stimulate your skin’s natural collagen production. Filler treats the symptom of facial aging and typically lasts between 6-12 months. Sculptra® lasts over 2 years and addresses the underlying cause of facial aging versus just the symptoms. The benefits of Sculptra® are natural-looking results, restoration of youthful appearance, improved skin texture, and increased fullness to areas that are lacking. Although Sculptra® and Fillers are different, they can be used in combination for optimal restoration and results.

Common Treatment Areas

Temporal lobe volume loss, the area between the cheeks and above the jawline, nasal labial folds (smile lines), around the chin area, and any areas on the face where there is loss of elasticity and structure.

Sculptra® is meant to be a one-time treatment regimen of up to four sessions around 3-4 weeks apart.
